Why 100 Hours Is Becoming the New Standard

According to the company’s analysts, the established limit of 100 hours per month comfortably covers the needs of over 94% of the service’s users. NVIDIA explains this move as a desire to ensure maximum streaming quality and reduce queue times for paid subscribers. This will distribute server resources more efficiently, preventing individual users from overloading the system with 24/7 streaming.

New Performance Plans and Updates

Along with its limits, NVIDIA is rebranding. The popular Priority plan is now called Performance. Users of this tier will receive a significant quality improvement: 1440p resolution is now supported, up from the previous 1080p. Support for ultra-wide monitors has also been added, previously reserved for the more expensive Ultimate plan. This makes the mid-tier subscription significantly more attractive to owners of modern monitors.

How much does it cost to play over the limit?

For those who spend much more time in virtual worlds, NVIDIA has developed a system of additional packages. If you reach your limit, you can purchase additional time. For the Performance plan, a 15-hour package costs $2.99. For the premium Ultimate plan, a similar package costs $5.99. This allows you to flexibly manage your gaming time based on your needs in a given month.

Rollover clock transfer system

An important feature is the accumulation system. If you don’t use all 100 hours during a month, some of the remaining hours will not be lost. Up to 15 unused hours are automatically carried over to the next billing period. This means that at the beginning of a new month, you can have up to 115 hours of gameplay time, which is very convenient for big new releases or holiday weekends.

When will the new rules come into effect?

The changes are being rolled out gradually, giving players time to adjust. New users who subscribe on or after January 1, 2025, will be immediately subject to the limits. However, loyal players with an active subscription at the end of 2024 will be able to enjoy unlimited access for another year, until early 2026. Founders account holders have a special status-for them, the terms remain unchanged as long as they continue to pay for the service.

Technological leap with new cards

Despite the limited time, NVIDIA continues to improve the service’s technical foundation. Ultimate plan subscribers will soon gain access to the incredible power of the new RTX 5080 graphics chips, enabling them to run the most demanding modern titles in 4K at refresh rates up to 240 FPS. The cloud experience is now nearly identical to gaming on top-end local hardware, delivering minimal latency and photorealistic graphics with support for the latest ray tracing and AI upscaling technologies.
